ReSeedpt
ReSeedpt is a speculative design project that explores the receipt as a medium and vessel for everyday consumer interactions. The impetus of the project was to highlight a currently unsustainable practice and ideate sustainable solutions. When examining the interaction between consumer and physical till receipt, the research showed that not only can BPA & potentially BPS till receipts be toxic to human skin, but the thermal coating used to make receipts function renders them unrecyclable. Out of 11billion receipts printed annually in the UK, approximately 9.9billion (200,000 trees worth of paper) are binned, creating a huge wastage problem.
Below you can find the material research conducted, the subsequent graphic design and speculative awareness campaign, as well as the ideation for “ReSeedpt”, a mobile banking based integration system for receipt storage and issuing, to replace current e-receipts in a user friendly way.
